Going and Coming Rule
Employment & Coverage Terms
Definition
A general rule that injuries during a normal commute to or from work aren't covered by workers' comp, since the worker isn't yet performing job duties.
Why It Matters
There are meaningful exceptions — travel for work purposes, company vehicles, and certain job-required travel can all fall outside this exclusion.
